Ada
- Sourced Responsibly
Our Ada Ring (named after Ada Lovelace and her pioneering work in mathematical sequences and programming), features a sophisticated row of brilliant round diamonds set in a secure pavé setting along a sleek band. This elegant design showcases exceptional craftsmanship with precisely placed diamonds that create a continuous sequence of sparkle, each stone perfectly aligned to form a harmonious pattern of light. The smooth, polished band provides the perfect foundation for the sequential arrangement of diamonds, whilst the low-profile setting ensures comfort for everyday wear. Each diamond catches and reflects light in perfect coordination with its neighbours, creating the kind of systematic brilliance that mirrors Lovelace's methodical approach to mathematical problems. Perfect for those who appreciate the beauty of logical precision and sequential elegance.
In 1843, Ada translated and annotated an article about Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine, adding her own detailed notes that were three times longer than the original article, in which she described the first computer algorithm - a step-by-step sequence for calculating Bernoulli numbers. Lovelace was the first person to recognise that computers could manipulate not just numbers but any symbols according to rules, envisioning that the machine could process musical notes, letters, and images - essentially predicting modern computing a century before it became reality.

This ring has been named after the remarkable Ada Lovelace, a pioneering English mathematician and writer who is widely considered the world's first computer programmer. Born Augusta Ada Byron on December 10, 1815, as the daughter of the famous poet Lord Byron, Lovelace showed exceptional mathematical talent from an early age despite the unconventional education for women of her era. In 1843, she translated and annotated an article about Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine, adding her own detailed notes that were three times longer than the original article, in which she described the first computer algorithm - a step-by-step sequence for calculating Bernoulli numbers. Lovelace was the first person to recognise that computers could manipulate not just numbers but any symbols according to rules, envisioning that the machine could process musical notes, letters, and images - essentially predicting modern computing a century before it became reality. Her famous insight that "the Analytical Engine weaves algebraic patterns, just as the Jacquard-loom weaves flowers and leaves" demonstrated her understanding of how systematic sequences could create complex and beautiful results. Just as Ada Lovelace saw the potential for sequential instructions to create extraordinary outcomes, the diamonds in this ring follow their own precise sequence to create continuous, coordinated brilliance, making her the perfect namesake for a ring that celebrates the beauty found in mathematical harmony and methodical excellence.
Our skilled team digitally creates all images in our 'Create Your Ring Online' selection. The images are not photographs but are photorealistic. Most are designed with the aid of AI, and many start with a sketch on paper or Procreate as their foundation. Many are reworked with Photoshop. This is to create the most accurate images of rings that are yet to be made, providing a representation of how these rings will look in person. Once you choose your design, we will create your ring to the specifications you have chosen, including width and ring size. We guarantee your ring will be very close to, if not exactly the same as, the supplied images in line with Australian consumer law. The ring you will receive is unique to you.
If you prefer to see photos of a real ring that is available for purchase from our inventory, check out our 'Ready to Wear' collection. Here, you'll find a curated selection of unique rings that our team has carefully crafted. These are available for immediate shipping or pickup from our store in Adelaide's East End.
