Our Marie Ring (named after Marie Curie and her pioneering discoveries in radioactivity) features an elegant, flowing design with graceful, curved lines that create a sophisticated, asymmetrical silhouette. This modern ring showcases exceptional craftsmanship with its smooth, continuous curves that capture and reflect light beautifully while maintaining structural strength. Designed with comfort in mind, it has a smooth inside that makes it very easy to wear. The timeless flowing pattern creates contemporary elegance while symbolising innovation and discovery, perfect for daily wear.

In 1911, Marie won her second Nobel Prize, this time in Chemistry, for discovering radium and polonium—making her the only person to win Nobel Prizes in two different scientific fields. During World War I, she developed mobile X-ray units called "Little Curies" that helped save countless soldiers' lives. Her pioneering work laid the foundation for modern cancer treatments using radiation therapy and opened entire new fields of nuclear physics and chemistry.

Once you have added your ring of choice to the cart, please add your exact ring size to the 'Exact ring size & Order Note' box.

This ring has been named after the remarkable Marie Curie, the pioneering Polish-French physicist and chemist whose groundbreaking research on radioactivity forever changed science and medicine. Born Maria Skłodowska on November 7, 1867, in Warsaw, Poland, she grew up in a family of teachers who valued education despite living under the repressive Russian Empire. After moving to Paris in 1891 to continue her studies at the Sorbonne, she earned her degrees in physics and mathematics while living in poverty but pursuing her passion for science. In 1895, Marie married French physicist Pierre Curie, beginning both a remarkable scientific partnership and a love story that would change the world. Following Henri Becquerel's discovery of uranium's mysterious rays in 1896, Marie chose to investigate this phenomenon for her doctoral thesis, coining the term "radioactivity." Working in a converted shed under harsh conditions, Marie and Pierre discovered two new elements: polonium (named after her homeland) in 1898, and radium later that same year. Marie's most extraordinary achievement was isolating pure radium from tons of pitchblende ore—a process that took four years of backbreaking labor. In 1903, she became the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, sharing the Nobel Prize in Physics with Pierre and Henri Becquerel for their work on radioactivity. Tragically, Pierre was killed in a street accident in 1906, but Marie persevered, becoming the first female professor at the University of Paris. Marie Curie died in 1934 from aplastic anemia, likely caused by her lifelong exposure to radiation—the very phenomenon she discovered. Her laboratory notebooks from the 1890s remain radioactive to this day and are stored in lead-lined boxes. Like the elegant, flowing lines of this ring, Marie's legacy continues to ripple through science, inspiring generations of researchers and forever changing our understanding of the invisible forces that shape our universe.

Our skilled team digitally creates all images in our 'Create Your Ring Online' selection. The images are not photographs but are photorealistic. Most are designed with the aid of AI, and many start with a sketch on paper or Procreate as their foundation. Many are reworked with Photoshop. This is to create the most accurate images of rings that are yet to be made, providing a representation of how these rings will look in person. Once you choose your design, we will create your ring to the specifications you have chosen, including width and ring size. We guarantee your ring will be very close to, if not exactly the same as, the supplied images in line with Australian consumer law. The ring you will receive is unique to you.

If you prefer to see photos of a real ring that is available for purchase from our inventory, check out our 'Ready to Wear' collection.
