MM Layby - 3.01ct Australian Sapphire Teal

This is a once-in-a-lifetime gemstone. The colour is incredible, propper teal that dances between blue and green depending on the light source. The clarity is outstanding, very clear and sparkly. There are a couple of small inclusions that are in their completely natural state. If heat treated, these would have exploded into a broken star shape, but here, they are a lovely, natural, rounded shape, just as they were when this sapphire was created, thought to be around 60 million years ago.

The master gem cutter has spent a significant amount of time perfecting the dimensions, proportions, and facet faces. This helps the sapphire fill with colour even in low light.

If you are looking for something really special, this is it. Sapphires of this colour and quality are rarely found over 3ct in size.
