Franklin
- Sourced Responsibly
Rosalind Franklin's ground breaking X-ray crystallography revealed the elegant double helix structure of DNA, forever changing our understanding of life itself. Her meticulous research and Photo 51 provided crucial evidence that unlocked one of nature's most beautiful secrets. Though her contributions were initially overlooked, we now celebrate her brilliance and dedication to scientific discovery. Our Franklin ring honours her legacy—two intertwined spirals symbolising both the foundation of life and the eternal bond of love.
This sophisticated ring showcases exceptional craftsmanship with its textured, rope-like finish that catches light from every angle. Designed with comfort in mind, it has a curved inside that makes it very easy to wear. 20 Ebenezer Place, Adelaide, 5000, South Australia.
This ring has been named after the remarkable Rosalind Franklin, a pioneering British chemist and X-ray crystallographer. Born on July 25, 1920, Franklin was central to understanding the molecular structures of DNA, RNA, viruses, coal, and graphite. In May 1952, at King's College London, Franklin captured the famous "Photo 51" - an X-ray diffraction image that revealed DNA's double helix structure. Her meticulous work involved suspending a tiny DNA fibre and bombarding it with X-rays for 100 hours under carefully controlled conditions. Franklin's X-ray photographs have been called "amongst the most beautiful X-ray photographs of any substance ever taken". Her work provided the key data for deriving the double helix structure of DNA and shaped the emerging discipline of molecular biology. Although her contributions to the discovery of DNA structure were largely unrecognised during her lifetime, Franklin is now celebrated as a trailblazing scientist whose discoveries unlocked fundamental secrets of life itself.
Our skilled team digitally creates all images in our 'Create Your Ring Online' selection. The images are not photographs but are photorealistic. Most are designed with the aid of AI, and many start with a sketch on paper or Procreate as their foundation. Many are reworked with Photoshop. This is to create the most accurate images of rings that are yet to be made, providing a representation of how these rings will look in person. Once you choose your design, we will create your ring to the specifications you have chosen, including width and ring size. We guarantee your ring will be very close to, if not exactly the same as, the supplied images in line with Australian consumer law. The ring you will receive is unique to you.
If you prefer to see photos of a real ring that is available for purchase from our inventory, check out our 'Ready to Wear' collection.
