Topaz is a lovely gemstone, very hard, one of the few gemstones suitable for everyday wear. Traditional bright blue topaz generally starts it life as a pale brown, then its treated with heat or radiation to change it to a number of different shades of blue. This however, is completely untreated Australian blue topaz. Its far lighter than treated topaz, a light sky blue, similar to the lightest of blue sapphire. If you are looking for a pale blue gemstone for an engagement ring or everyday dress ring Australian blue topaz is an excellent, budget friendly choice. We have spent years acquiring rough blue topaz from O'Brians creek in Queensland and can have it cut to order if you have a special shape or size you would like.
