Indigo — A Jewel That Gathers Stories Over Time

Indigo is a celebration of contrast — a meeting of antique-inspired craftsmanship and the untamed beauty of Australian gems. At its centre rests a pale blue topaz from O’Brians Creek in far-north Queensland, cut in a traditional high rose-cut style that echoes early hand-cut gemstones designed to glow in candlelight. Surrounding it is a halo of vivid blue sapphires from Rubyvale, each step-cut to reveal the crisp, unmistakable blues that made the Gemfields famous throughout the 19th and 20th centuries.

But Indigo is more than a ring — it is a living object, designed to evolve with its wearer.

The halo is crafted in oxidised sterling silver, intentionally finished in a deep charcoal patina. This darkened surface will naturally soften, brighten, and wear away in places as the ring is worn. Silver will develop dents, marks, and a softened polish over time — a process that is not a flaw, but the very heart of the design. Just as antique rings carry the quiet history of each life they’ve touched, Indigo is meant to age, to change, to record the unique journey of its wearer.

If worn daily, this transformation will happen more quickly; if worn occasionally, more slowly. Either way, the ring becomes increasingly personal — a piece that gathers character through every moment lived. Over years, and eventually across generations, Indigo becomes a story told in metal: a map of touch, time, and memory.

The warmth of the 18-carat rose gold band balances the shadowy halo, grounding the design in enduring elegance. It is a ring that embraces authenticity — celebrating Australian gemstones, old-world inspiration, and the quiet poetry of wear.

These guys are amazing at what they do. They created my beautiful engagement ring, as well as both of our wedding rings. We appreciate the stories behind all of the gems that they use and the hard work they put into all their creations. They are clearly passionate about what they do and I recommend them very highly.
