Extra notes: The colour and quality of Turquoise from the Sleeping Beauty mine is renowned the world over. The mine is now closed and supplies are running low. Many of the worlds great Turquoise producing areas have closed or are closing due to being mined out. Australia also had a bright blue deposit, in Victoria, but this area was closed a long time ago. Most of this Turquoise was dug up and shipped to Europe to be used in parquetry table tops.
