Pau - Australian Teal Sapphire Solitaire - Baret Collection
Pau showcases one of the most exceptional Australian sapphires we've ever encountered. This teal sapphire, with its remarkably even colour dispersion, is an incredibly rare find. Weighing in at just over 5 carats, this gem is truly one-of-a-kind. For those seeking a statement piece fit for royalty, Pau is the epitome of luxury and distinction. Its versatility shines through as it can be worn either as a breathtaking engagement ring, potentially paired with one or two diamond-set eternity bands for added splendour, or as an opulent right-hand dress ring that's sure to turn heads.
The Baret collection, of which Pau is a stunning example, was designed with comfort as a guiding principle. The sapphire is set as low as possible to the finger, effectively lowering the centre of gravity and minimizing the chance of the ring spinning. A wide base beneath the sapphire and at the bottom of the ring further reduces movement, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit. These thoughtful design elements, born from experience, can make the difference between a lifetime of love and one of frustration. Pau's romantic nature is accentuated by intricate details and textures that not only add to its allure but also serve to emphasize the beauty of the Australian gold. This ring is more than just a piece of jewellery; it's a masterpiece that marries unparalleled beauty with a practical, comfort-focused design.Â

Our Baret Collection has its roots in history. It's a design style for romantics and signals to the beauty of the natural world. Baret's delicate opening flower buds signify a coming together and the beginning of new life.
Named after the remarkable woman Jeanne Baret. Born in France in the 18th century, Baret defied societal norms and embarked on a groundbreaking expedition, becoming the first woman to complete a circumnavigation of the globe.
Jeanne Baret's journey commenced not only as a woman but also as a skilled botanist. Disguised as a man to evade the French law that precluded women from such voyages, she adopted the name Jean Baret and joined Louis Antoine de Bougainville's expedition in 1766. Her remarkable botanical expertise came to the forefront during the journey and even though her true identity was eventually discovered she was kept aboard and completed the adventure as an essential member of the scientific endeavour.Â
